Under the SQELPS project, the ASER test is conducted in schools to evaluate students’ reading and mathematical skills. The assessment revealed significant learning gaps. Out of 797 students from Classes III–V, 753 were found to be below the word level in reading and at the multiplication level in mathematics—indicating that 94% of the students required remedial support.
At one of the project’s intervention schools, Samasi Government L.P. School, many students faced difficulties in reading and performing basic arithmetic operations. To address this, the SQELPS project introduced a Learning Gap Course for underperforming students. Education Facilitator provided focused lessons in reading and mathematics through engaging, child-friendly methods. Continuous monitoring, mentoring, and regular assessments were carried out to track progress. Teachers and facilitator worked closely together to build confidence among students who previously struggled to keep up with their peers.
As a result of these efforts, three students from Samasi Government L.P. School — Heibor Tangliang (11yrs), Risha Salahe (12yrs), and Gerousful Manar (12yrs) —demonstrated remarkable improvement and received double promotion from Class IV to Class VI in 2025 at Samasi U.P School. This success story highlights the power of timely intervention and the positive impact of focused learning support.
The students expressed their gratitude, saying: “We thank and appreciate the Office of Bosco Integrated Development Society for the guidance and support provided to us over the years.”
